Birds’ Beaks and How to Stuff ’em
Whether in the back yard or in the bush, you frequently have the opportunity to feed wild birds. National parks, public gardens and other places often play host to a range of different birds that can be quite demanding for food. But should you feed them? And if so, what? Only if you give them food that is healthy for them will you be doing wild birds a favour. But you don’t have to study up on every species to know what its special diet is. There is a simple secret to knowing just what is right for your visitor—and that is in the shape of its beak.
