Redback!
A vivid red slash across a patent-leather black abdomen spells warning in any language, human or invertebrate. The universal symbol for danger is blazened across the female Latrodectus mactans, aka Black Widow, Katipo, Malmignatte, Redback and other names given to this deadly little spider which occurs all around the world. Most people would be greatly surprised to find how many they could turn up around their houses by actively searching.
