Bitten But Not Dead
“Am I going to die?! Am I going to die?!” screamed 12 year old Trevor Ryan when he realized with terror that the spider which had just bitten him was the deadly Sydney Funnelweb. The ambulance response was quick, since Trevor lived only minutes from a hospital well-practiced in the treatment of Funnelweb bites, but it took three ampoules and 24 hours before his symptoms started to reverse. Although he cannot remember the crisis clearly, Trevor tells us how, a year later, his life has been changed by the ordeal.
This short piece of 1 or 2 pics and 500 words would work as a filler, particularly in a children’s magazine.
