Life in the Tall Eucalypt Forests
#05 Yellow-bellied Glider
In contrast, the call of the Yellow-bellied Glider, which sounds like “a cross between a squealing pig and a gurgling cappuccino machine”, as ecologist David Lindenmayer describes it, often accompanies its acrobatic flight through old growth Mountain Ash forest. It can glide more than 100 metres, sometimes making 90-degree turns in mid air.
