Life in the Tall Eucalypt Forests
#09 Leadbeater’s Possum
The endangered Leadbeater’s Possum occurs virtually nowhere else except the wet montane forests of the Central Highlands of Victoria. The black stripe on its back looks like an ooze of sap down a tree trunk and possibly acts as camouflage from owls as it feeds at night.
