Life in the Tall Eucalypt Forests
#15 Forest of Tree Ferns
Tree Ferns are most abundant in old growth Mountain Ash forests. They can grow to over 10 metres in height and half a metre in diameter. Majestic specimens more than 350 years old can be found in 60-year-old Mountain Ash forest that regenerated after the catastrophic Black Friday fires in 1939.
