Life in the Tall Eucalypt Forests
« previous | next »

#33 Yarra Haze
Just as a painting is more than the colours on a canvas, so a forest is more than a simple collection of trees. There are a diversity of habitats and associated species.
As the evening fog descends to settle over the higher peaks of the Mountain Ash forests, the calls of Laughing Kookaburra, Superb Lyrebird and Eastern Yellow Robin announce the fading daylight and signal a change of the guard. The nocturnal animals, the possums, gliders and owls now become active.
