


Pacific Baza
This portrait reminds me of an Egyptian statue that I have. Like the Egyptian sculptors, I think I’ve captured the spirit of the proud hunter in this photo. All the attention is concentrated on the gleaming golden eye.
This was a straightforward shot, taken in a sanctuary where this young bird was recuperating from an accident and being trained to return to the wild. Sometimes it’s the elegant composition of shadows and highlights that makes the picture, rather than complicated technologies.
